Here are some our favourite walks in northern NSW national parks that showcase the timeless beauty of our Gondwana rainforests. Brindle Creek Walking Track, Border Ranges NP
6km one-way/3-4hr/Grade 3
If you love waterfalls and ancient rainforest, then you can’t go past Brindle Creek walking track in the high country of Border Ranges NP. Following the creek line, this medium walk passes through unspoilt wilderness from Brindle Creek picnic area to Antarctic beech picnic area in the northeast of Border Ranges NP, near Kyogle.

Gibraltar-Washpool World Heritage Walk, Gibraltar Range NP
45km loop/3-4 days/Grade 4
Within the mountainous Northern Tablelands, high above Clarence River Valley, a very special track links Gibraltar Range and Washpool national parks. Gibraltar-Washpool World Heritage walk passes through dramatic and ever-changing natural environments with numerous side track options for further exploration.

Lyrebird Walking Track, New England NP
5.5km loop/2.5-3.5 hr/Grade 3
The Lyrebird walking track is a 5.5km circuit walk through New England NP that takes bushwalkers through an enchanting range of environments, including eucalypt forest and cool temperate rainforest, along basalt cliffs and past babbling brooks, historic signposts, waterfalls and colourful heath. Marvel at a constantly changing feast of expansive views. At dawn, valley-mist swirls like a white lake between the higher peaks and rises to embrace early morning walkers.

Green Gully Track, Oxley Wild Rivers NP
65km/4-5 days/Grade 5
The Green Gully track, part of the World Heritage-listed Oxley Wild Rivers NP, is an adventurous 65km walk. This award-winning walking track is one of the best in NSW and takes you on a unique journey deep into the Apsley-Macleay gorges, one of the largest gorge systems in Australia.
Stay: Cedar Creek Cottage, followed by Birds Nest Hut, Green Gully Hut, Colwells Hut and finishing up at Cedar Creek Lodge. (Only available as a bookable self-guided 5 day tour)
Gloucester Tops Circuit, Barrington Tops NP
Walk through snow gum woodland and ancient rainforest to lookouts and waterfalls, along the Gloucester Tops circuit. This 8km loop combines three popular and scenic walks in Barrington Tops NP.
