Great Walks reviews Macpac's Traverse V2 outershell jacket...
"Macpac is a brand that knows exactly what they are doing. The Traverse is a solid offering in Pertex Shield Pro that got a blustery workout along the banks of the Thredbo River. The knitted inner layer of the fabric is soft against the skin and reinforced shoulders mean carrying a huge pack won’t abrade the face fabric, as confirmed by a solid result in the abrasion test.
The hem is nice and long around the rear but the distinguishing feature of this jacket is its unique (to this review) hood, which folds away neatly into the collar. While this traditionally makes for a less well-fitting hood, the wire-stiffened brim and twin drawcord adjusters (external, thank you OR!) give a pretty decent result. Another pro – the YKK AquaGuard coil zipper used on this jacket was much more water resistant than the larger AquaGuard Vislon zippers used on most of the others."
Hydrostatic Head: 20,000mm
