Another week and another missing bushwalker. This time in Victoria High Country.
Jeremy Boyden (23) was on a day hike with his father near Dargo in eastern Victoria when he ran off and went missing with his Jack Russell named Rocky on Friday afternoon.
The dog was spotted on its own on the Sunday but there has been no sign of Mr Boyden.
Police Inspector Rob Wallace said Mr Boyden’s father searched by himself for a couple of hours before raising the alarm. There were now more than 60 people involved in the search, including the air wing, mounted branch and dog squad.
“There’s a lot of resources up there looking for this fellow,” Inspector Wallace told ABC Gippsland.
“Last night was very cold, of course, so it’s starting to get a bit of a concern.”
Inspector Wallace said Mr Boyden was only equipped for a day hike, but he was fit and healthy.
“He did have a small amount of food with him at the time,” he said.
“His clothing, while it is adequate, a jumper etc, he’ll still be very cold.”
Mr Boyden was last seen wearing a green and gold jumper and blue tracksuit pants.
