Switzerland Tourism has opened a brand new summit attraction in the Jungfrau region: the Grindelwald First Cliff Walk.
The all-year-round attraction is located at the First summit station and consists of a 40m-long one rope suspended bridge, climbing stairs and a 45m-long vantage platform.
The circular path leads to the west face of the First Summit and the mountain house, then to the sun terrace of the Berggasthaus First via the spiral stairway.
Those who brave the trail will enjoy panoramic views of the neighbouring glaciers and mountains, with peaks reaching more than 4000m.
Mark Wettstein, Director of Switzerland Tourism, says one of the key attractions for travellers to Switzerland is the range of mountainous activities and adventurous experiences on offer.
“While we have numerous adrenaline-pumping activities available throughout the country, new experiences such as this one involving cliff walks at knee-trembling heights never fail to interest our thrill-seeking visitors,” he says. “They cannot seem to get enough of it and we are always looking for ways to feed that demand for excitement.”
