The Victorian Government says it is investing $107.2 million to help Victorians enjoy the outdoors.
‘The Great Outdoors Package’ aims to improve camping facilities, walking and driving tracks across Victoria, upgrade 30 existing campgrounds and introduce 30 new campgrounds among other initiatives.
A key initiative in the package is the 50 percent reduction of camping fees across state and national parks in Victoria.
Since 1 July, camping fees across state and national parks in Victoria have been be reduced by 50 per cent. However the fee reduction does not apply to hard roofed accommodation which may include cabins, lodges, huts and cottages.
Popular parks where the fee reduction applies include Grampians NP, Cathedral Range State Park, Croajingolong NP, Great Otway NP and campsites along the Great Ocean Walk.
