Oxfam Trailwalker is one of the toughest team events in the world and the money goes to a great cause. So if you're thinking about taking it on with three of your mates here are our five reaons why you should do it.

The Mateship Together with three of your closest friends you’ll journey through 100km or 50km of bushland to support communities around the world who are living below the poverty line. It’s not a relay, but a team effort to help each other reach the finish line. You’ll spend upwards of 24 hours together, so prepare for some intense bonding moments.

The Difference Your fundraising efforts will go towards our programs around the world. So far, those who’ve tackled Oxfam Trailwalker have contributed $100 million towards our work finding practical, innovative and sustainable ways for people to lift themselves out of poverty. Put simply, being a part of Oxfam Trailwalker will change lives for the better.

The Scenery You’ll be seeking out some incredible scenery as you follow the trail. All three trails have their own beautiful landscapes that change one step at a time. Whether it’s the dense Dandenong Ranges in Melbourne, the crisp clean air of Bobbin Head in Sydney and well, Mount Glorious in Brisbane simply speaks for itself.

The Challenge The physical challenge is simple. Walking 100km is tough for anyone, so you must put in the training. The mental challenge on the other hand is a little less clear. You’ll need to build your mental toughness by doing some context training (walking in the dark) and knowing your plan (where to stop, what to eat etc.). You’ll be faced with a number of challenges throughout the journey but the best part is you’ll have your team to support you on every step.

The Sense of Achievement Very occasionally in life do you get the chance to achieve something extraordinary; something that will inspire others and prove something to yourself. Oxfam Trailwalker is one of those rare opportunities. It’s an epic journey that changes lives forever – including yours. That moment you cross that finish line is a moment that will stick with you for a very long time.
