With our Wilderness Photographer of the Year presented by Southern Oean Walk well underway, its time to meet this year's four judges.
And the good news is, our judges from last year have returned. These professional photographers will be bringing plenty of experience from last year's comp with them and over the next month or so you'l hear from each one with their photo tips and what they're looking for in a winning photos.
The way the process works is the judges will be given a short list of amazing images and then they will choose their favourites. So please meet your judges:
Mike Edmondson
Mike has been a backcountry guide, professional photographer & cross country ski instructor for over 35 years. Specialising in Kosciuszko NP where he leads photography, snow camping adventures & Australia’s Ten Highest Peaks walks. Mike also has an extensive photographic online gallery.
Steph Vella
Steph is a passionate travel, landscape and portrait photographer based in Sydney. She is constantly in awe of the natural beauty we have all around us and has made it her mission to see, capture and share as much of it as she can.
Julie Fletcher
Julie is a passionate landscape photographer who also enjoys the challenge of wildlife photography. She has been shooting for over 10 years and is passionate about teaching and helping others through her workshops in several locations in Australia. Julie travels many areas of Australia to capture images that are a unique expression of a space and often revisits repeatedly until it feels like home.
Ryan Dominico
Wellington-based Ryan has spent much time photographing NZ's inspiring landscape. He specialises in travel and tourism, food and beverage, commercial photography and social media. He has work with clients as varied as Mercedes-Benz, Air New Zealand ad Coca Cola.
