It's been a year since Great Walks walked up Australia's 10 highest mainland peaks in Kosciuszko National Park, NSW.

Local guide and professional photographer Mike Edmondson took us on a four day adventure that was one for the books.

Mike knows the area like the back of his hand and took us to some of his favourite hiking and camping spots, often off the beaten track so we felt pretty lucky.

You have the choice to base their walk from lodge accommodation in Jindabyne or camping in the mountains, which we chose. And even though the nights were a bit cold, the opportunity to watch some spectacular sunsets and sunrises was too good to miss.

The four-day program allows time to enjoy the wonderful alpine scenery, without feeling you need to rush off to the next summit. and as these photos attest, it's an amazing part of Australia to discover.
