Richard Greenland, Fox Glacier Aoraki/Mt Cook foggy morning (PLACES WILDERNESS 2024)

On the western side of the ranges in New Zealand, loooking east, showing Fox Glacier and Aoraki/Mt Cook to the right. The Fox glacier is approx. 13 kilometre in length and plummets 2,600 metres from high in the Southern Alps. It is fed by four alpine glaciers that receive around 30 metres of snowfall each year. The snow is compacted at the top of the glacier into blue ice hundreds of metres deep. There are beautiful rainforest walks on both sides of the Fox river which is feed from the Glacier.
