Cathy Almond, French Ridge Hut, New Zealand (PLACES WILDERNESS)

French Ridge Hut is in Mt Aspiring National park in New Zealand. It is a New Zealand Alpine Club Hut, used mostly by climbers intending to scale Mt Aspiring. I went with three friends from the Strzelecki Bushwalking Club, based in Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. Getting to the toilet was an adventure in itself because of the snow and wet conditions! The next morning, we ventured outside (before leaving) and up behind the hut. This photo was taken looking down into the valley; you can see the toilet off to the right.
