Lauren Hooper, Racing sunrise (PEOPLE WILDERNESS 2024)

At 4am, we began our summit of Mount Toubkal, Morocco. 4,167 meters above sea, we moved slowly up the mountain to ensure to avoid any altitude sickness. By noon, we reached the summit without our guide - a big "no no" in these regions - as he had to descend with a party member who surrendered to the sickness.
