Early bird pricing for Great Walks' Wilderness Photographer of the Year presented by Nokia is ending soon!

Entry fees per image begin at $20 (Early bird 29 Mar-30 May 2021); Standard entry is $25 per photo (31 May-15 Aug); and  Late entry is $30 per photo (16 Aug-5 Sept 2021).

Months in the making, Great Walks is proud to announce it is now accepting entries and we have a fantastic stash of prizes.

Great Walks readers love taking photos. We see that with our other competitions in the mag and online,” says Great Walks editor Brent McKean.

“Wilderness Photographer of the Year takes it to a whole other level as we have great prizes, awesome sponsors and plenty of opportunities for our readers to get their work published.”

Winners and runners-up will share in a prize pool of over $14,000 including $4,000 cash, and prizes including the latest Nokia smartphones, a three-day walking tour of Tasmania, a trip to NZ's Milford Sound, and a team entry into Oxfam Trailwalker.

Also the best 20 images in each category will be published in the Dec-Jan 2022 issue of Great Walks and appear online.

There are two categories for Wilderness Photographer of the Year – People and Places.

People Your best photos with people in the frame – the ones you hike with or meet on your walk, the rangers, wardens and guides, and maybe people who live on the trail.

Places The sweeping panoramas and dramatic horizons, the spectacular coastlines and inspiring wilderness here and overseas that fills your senses and fills your lenses!
