Bushwalkers and fitness enthusiasts have more ways to monitor their activity with the release of ActivityTracker 4.2.

It’s the latest update to the iPhone and Apple Watch app that automatically records daily steps and tracks activities using GPS.

The app can be used to monitor a range of activities, including bushwalking, running and cycling, with the new update adding several features designed to make tracking easier and more informative.

For PRO users, ActivityTracker 4.2 introduces heart-rate graphs and heart-rate zone tracking, providing a clearer picture of workout intensity and performance. A new countdown timer has also been added, while notifications can now remind users to pause or resume activities on both iPhone and Apple Watch.

Managing recorded activities is also easier. Users can filter their activity history by type and access relevant statistics more clearly, while PRO subscribers gain a redesigned backup system and the ability to export their activity data in CSV format.

The update also brings a number of performance improvements. ActivityTracker now launches considerably faster on iPhone, while new profile options provide additional flexibility for users. The app’s home screen has received a fresh gradient design, and the activity list on Apple Watch has been redesigned for a cleaner experience.

Behind the scenes, the developers have made numerous optimisations and bug fixes aimed at improving reliability and overall performance.

With its combination of improved activity statistics, heart-rate monitoring, easier data management and a faster interface, ActivityTracker 4.2 offers a more comprehensive fitness-tracking experience for iPhone and Apple Watch users.
