Global hiking event comes to Australia
HIGHLANDER Adventure has three local events in 2026-27
HIGHLANDER Adventure Australia is bringing its global hiking series to three spectacular Australian locations across 2026 and 2027, with options ranging from a single day to multi-day adventures.
The newly launched 1DAY format provides an easy introduction to the HIGHLANDER experience, making it ideal for beginners and those who don’t want to invest in multi-day hiking gear or spend weeks preparing. The philosophy is simple: make hiking accessible, enjoyable and stress-free.
Founded in Croatia in 2017, HIGHLANDER now operates in more than 20 countries, taking hikers into some of the world’s most spectacular landscapes. Organisers handle the essentials, including routes, food, water, safety, checkpoints and campsites, leaving participants free to concentrate on the trail.
The fun doesn’t stop when the walking does. Evenings feature live music, wellness sessions, workshops, breathwork, stargazing, nature talks and other activities, creating a relaxed festival atmosphere and plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow hikers.
The Australian series begins at Mount Macedon, Victoria, on 5 December 2026, with the new 1DAY event winding through eucalypt forests, mountain trails, historic landmarks and scenic viewpoints.
Next comes Mount Hotham, Victoria, from 10–14 March 2027, where hikers can tackle two, three or five days through the spectacular Alpine National Park.
The series finishes at Bouddi National Park on the NSW Central Coast on 10 April 2027, combining clifftop trails, beaches, bushland and Aboriginal and European history. Options include 1DAY and 1DAY + Overnight, making it another accessible way to experience the HIGHLANDER adventure.
